Helen “Jeanne” Robbin

(nee Breen)

 

Helen Jeanne Robbin, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026, in Lemont, Illinois. Jeanne born on September 24, 1932, in Joliet, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of the late J. Ramond and Stella (nee Fritz) Breen. Throughout her long and faith-filled life, Helen was known for her generous spirit, selfless nature, and steadfast dedication to her family, church, and community.

 

Jeanne was a graduate of St. Francis Academy and continued her education by attending classes at Joliet Junior College. She devoted many years of her working life to St. Joseph Hospital, where she served as a Ward Clerk for over 15 years. In this role, she brought compassion, care, and quiet strength to patients, families, and colleagues alike.

 

A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime parishioner of Queen of Apostle Catholic Church, where she participated in parish life with devotion and humility. She was also an active and supportive member of the community, sharing her time and talents as a longtime member of the Visitation and Aid Society of Joliet. Her commitment to helping others reflected her belief in living out her faith through service.

 

Jeanne is survived by her children, Jane Robbin and James (Tammy) Robbin; five grandchildren, Lauren Robbin, Ann (Tommy) Lefere, Steven, Mary, and David Robbin; and three great-grandchildren, Rosalia Robbin, Liam Robbin, and Francis Lefere. She is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn (the late Bob) Baskerville and Kathy (the late Victor) Garcia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her kindness and warmth.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard R. Robbin; her son, Mark Robbin; and her great-granddaughter, Annie Lefere.

 

Visitation for Helen Jeanne Robbin will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 8:00 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:15 a.m. Family and friends will then process to Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Visitation and Aid Society of Joliet, P.O. Box 2715, Joliet, IL 60431.
