Obituary of James L. Randolph
James L. Randolph
James L. “Jim” Randolph, age 80, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born in Joliet, IL, on March 20, 1946, the son of the late William and Dorothy (nee Sheridan) Randolph. He was a graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1964, where he was an all-star athlete.
Jim was known for his incredible sense of humor and his kind heart. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, and he brought warmth to everyone who knew him. He loved sports and could often be found watching a game, but nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren, who were truly the center of his world.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Roxann Prette; his daughter, Sara (Bill) Prince; his cherished grandchildren, Jimmy and Audrey Prince; his sister, Judy (Jerry) Galick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Sunny Hill Nursing home for all of the love and care they showed to Jim and his family. As well as a special thank you to Dennis Weichel, Jim Nugent, Debbie Brooks, Terry Bucciarelli, Rochelle Prette, and Kristin Gambino for all of their love and support.
James will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for James L. Randolph will be held at a later date. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
