Obituary of Arthur Krieger

Arthur H. Krieger Age 83. At rest Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 29, 1931 in Joliet to Otto and Mary (nee Petschauer) Krieger. A U.S. Army veteran as PFC serving in the Korean War. Retired from Caterpillar in 1987 with 36 years of service as a maintenance supervisor. While he was retired, worked for his son-in-law at Neon Clocks Company building clocks for 13 years. A member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, Moran Club and Rivals Club. An avid bowler and bowled with the Town and Country Senior League. Enjoyed woodworking and playing Pinochle and Euchre card games. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan L. (nee Popek); children, Linda (Chuck) Fietterer, Barb (Dave) Dyer, Bill (Jean) Krieger, Sue (James) Vowels, Karen (Marty) Marcus and Bob (Karrie Kunke) Krieger; grandchildren, Dan Fietterer, Adam (Amy), Christy and Katie Dyer, Stephen and David Krieger, and Stephanie and Kevin Vowels; and many nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Otto (1968) and Mary (1978); grandson, Andrew Dyer (2015); siblings, Margaret ( the late George) Lobas (2001), Billy Krieger (1922), Lois Krieger (1943) and Betty (the late Thomas) Metrick (2015). Funeral Services for Arthur H. Krieger will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet, IL where family and friends will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. As it was Arthur's wish, Cremation Rites will be accorded following the mass. Private inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
