Obituary of Wanda Schubert

Wanda L. Schubert (nee Mather) Age 89, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center. Beloved wife of 70 years to Willis E. Schubert; loving mother of William J. Schubert and Sharyn (Larry) Perinar; devoted grandmother of Larry (Patricia) Perinar, Jr. and Kari A. (Dennis) Sullivan; great-grandmother of Stacey, Brenna, Mitch, Ginger and Rocky Perinar; Jack and Fiona Sullivan; Also survived by two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Smith and Betty Stettler; two brothers, John (Linda) Mather and Paul Mather and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Oval and Florence (nee Johnston) Mather; sister, Wilma Harper; and brother, Carl Mather Wanda loved to horseback ride and spent some of her happiest moments on "Sam" her quarter horse. She loved her adopted cat Missy who was at her side constantly the last years. She loved to oil paint, sew and take walks in the woods, dreaming of going back to her beloved Ozark Mountains. Special thanks to the wonderful nurses and aides at Rosewood Care Center, and the staff from Joliet Area Community Hospice. Finally, our heartfelt thanks to Lucy Jachma for her compassionate, loving care during the last year. Visitation for Wanda L. Schubert will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet from 3-7 p.m. Services and interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL will be held privately.
