Obituary of Patricia Oldani

M. Patricia Oldani (nee Perry) "Pat" Age 91, peacefully Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Senior Star at Weber Place. Born in Joliet, IL, January 23, 1924 to Roscoe and Marguerite (nee Scully) Perry, she attended St. Raymond's and Joliet Township High School, Class of 1941. Pat married Dick Oldani in Pensacola, FL in 1943, and was married almost 50 years before his death in 1993. Pat was a stay at home mom, grandmother, and second mother to many. They raised their family in the Marquette Gardens neighborhood. She was Dick's travel companion for more than 25 trips to London for Dick's business with Lloyds of London. Pat loved unconditionally and was happiest surrounded by her family. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and even after losing her eyesight to macular degeneration, loved playing cards with family. Pat loved her volunteer work as both a Cherry Red and Auxilian volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center with her sister Georgia, and at St. Patrick's Retirement Home. She was a past member of St. Paul's Paulites, Joliet Catholic Mother's Clubs and the V&A Society. She remained active with the J.T.H.S. Class of '41 Alumni. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Dick (1993); her mother, Marguerite (Scully) Perry (1961); father, Roscoe Perry (1949); granddaughter, Megan Ellen Oldani (1987); great granddaughter, Megan Zofia Oldani (2004); sister, Georgia (Paul) Deiss; and her beloved grandmother, Agnes (D'Arcy) Scully (1949). Survived by her loving children, Pat (Bill) Stroud of Joliet, Rick (Kaysie) Oldani of Phoenix, AZ and Cindi (Marty) Mele of Naperville; grandmother to Tony (Renee) Oldani, Beth Arnold, Aaron (Christina) Stroud, Sara (Hanis) Cavin, David (Amanda) Stroud, Vince (Kara) Mele and Marisa (Nick) Hird; great-grandmother of Riley, Patrick and Connor Oldani, Jake, Josh and Keaghan Arnold, Julian Kelley, Violet Stroud and Madelyn Stroud; also survived by special nieces, Linda Deiss and Ginna (Ron) Jones, along with many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral Services for Patricia Oldani will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Friday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in her memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, American Brain Tumor Association or St. Paul the Apostle Church would be appreciated.
