Obituary of Robert Rector

Robert W. Rector "Bob" Age 83, passed peacefully, Thursday July 16, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet. Born October 15, 1931 to the late Flossie (nee Richardson) and Melvin Rector in Georgetown, IL. He was raised in Stickney, IL, and was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene College (now ONU), worked as an accountant for Fisher Body, a division of General Motors in Willow Springs, IL retired after over 30 years of service. He resided in Orland Park, IL prior to moving to Plainfield, IL where he and his wife resided for almost 18 years. He was a member of Living Water Community Church, a former church board member, Junior Boys Sunday School teacher and a bass singer in the choir of Argo/Oak Lawn Church of the Nazarene. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Barbara (nee Taylor) Rector; loving father of two daughters, Patricia (Timothy) Clevenger of Joliet, and Kathleen (Donald) Clark of Westminster, CO; proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Michelle (Ryan) Donfrio, Michael Boik, Andrew Clark and Adam Clark; dear brother of Joyce (Bob) Van Bolhuis, Dale (Leah) Rector and the late Richard Rector. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Robert Rector will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 12 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South in Oak Lawn, IL. Visitation also on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the services begin at the funeral home.
