Obituary of Charlene Obst

Charlene Theresa Obst (nee McEvilly) Age 79, passed away Sunday, August 23rd at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. Survived by her only child and cherished daughter Kimberly Klein (Jason Cavanaugh), adoring grandchildren Hunter, Dallas and Dakoda, her brother Robert (Beverly) McEvilly, sister-in-law Anne (Clennon) McEvilly, Uncle Donald (Jeannette) Breen, and many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Ramon Obst (1982), her parents Winnie (Breen) & Lawrence McEvilly, brother James McEvilly, niece Colleen Kapsch, nephews Ryan Reed and Andrew Carr. Charlene was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Joliet most of her life. She was deeply rooted in her Catholic religion and a strong follower of Pope John Paul. Employed at the Joliet Arsenal, Illinois Bell and Hoehn Florist. Her family was the center of her world, especially time shared with her grandchildren. Proud of her Irish heritage, every gathering of her family clan, large or small, was a cause of celebration and making new memories. Charlene had a big heart and loving soul. She made friends through her kindness, compassion and inspired everyone she touched. Loved by so many, family and friends will forever miss her special spirit. She was a faithful fan of the Chicago Cubs and a devout lover of all pets and animals. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Silver Cross Hospital for their kindness and support. Funeral services for Charlene Theresa Obst will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Catholic Church in Minooka for Mass of Christian Burial to be con-celebrated at 10:30am by Father Tuan Van Nguyen, Father James Lennon and Charlene's cousin Father Daniel Hoehn. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka. In lieu of flowers, memoirals to Joliet Area Community Hospice in her name would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 pm.
