Obituary of Lloyd Allen

Lloyd A. Allen "Red" Age 62, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his loved ones by his side. Born in Joliet, son of Robert S. and Clementine J. (Karcz) Allen, graduate of Joliet Central High School. A proud and loyal retired member of Teamsters Local #179. Red loved to fish and will be remembered for telling his "Uncle Lloyd" jokes. Survived by the love of his life, Jayne Odegaard of Plainfield; sister, Bobbie Martin; brother and best friend, Robert "Buddy" Allen, both of Joliet; sister, Sharon (Dennis) Madding of Bahama, NC; nieces and nephews, Christine and Bill Denley, Wendy Martin-Miles, John Foster, Angel and Ed Groce, Jennifer and Dan Dolan and Kimberly Gibbons; great-nieces and great-nephews; and good friends, Don Unland, Larry Tudor, Dave Adams, George Cadie, Bob Delaney, Vern Dechaucey, Frank Ojeida and Mike McNamara. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jacqueline Gibbons and Donna Rasmussen; nephews, Kevin Madding, David Gibbons, and Jeff Gibbons; step-mother, Veronica Allen; and friend, Chuck Brown. The family would like to give special thanks to friends, Marcy and Dee Clay, and to Joliet Area Community Hospice for their care and support. Funeral Services for Lloyd Allen will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
