Obituary of Dorothy Whitmer

Dorothy Whitmer (Nee Nicholson) Age 89, of Plainfield, born February 18, 1926 in Joliet, to Everett and Pauline (nee Partilla) Nicholson, and a lifelong resident, Passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side. Survived by her children, Melinda Miller of Hinsdale, IL, Maureen (Jerry) Dembski of Bellville, WI, Jonathan (Martha) Whitmer of Mesa, AZ, Melissa (Richard) Koren of Minooka, IL, Marsha (Richard) DeSalvo of Plainfield, IL and Mary Beth (Jamie) Palco of San Leon, TX; 13 grandchildren, Karen, Ken, Michael, Jeffery, Madolyn, Christopher, Patrick, Mallory, Max, Mitchell, Brandon, Jonathan and Tony; three great-grandchildren, C.J., Alexa and Macy; one brother, Don Nicholson; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred M. Whitmer (2007) and three children, Jeffrey, Fred and Marilyn Payne. Funeral services for Dorothy Whitmer will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, IL. Interment St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m until the time of service at noon at the funeral home.
