Obituary of Dorett McCallen

Dorett M. McCallen (nee Brooker) Age 81. Passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born April 23, 1934 to the late Bernice (nee Ruppe) and Robert Brooker in Joliet where she was raised and educated, a graduate with the Class of 1952 of Joliet Township High School. Preceded in death by her husband, Gail (1994); her son, Danny L. (2008); her daughter, Diane Elaine (1958); her mother, Bernice (1947) and grandmother, Florence Ruppe (1972). Survived by a granddaughter Michelle; grandson, David; best friends, Carmen (late Dennis) Schneider, Peggy (late Ronald) Cutright, Marg (late Larry) Horath and Sherry (Martin) Herrington; sister-in-law, Ethelyn Schofield and cousin, Jean Ruppe. Dorett, a lifetime Joliet resident, was a secretary in her younger years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinocchle with "the club", and the times she shared with her classmates and friends over the years. As it was Dorett's wish, private burial was held at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice. For information (815) 741-5500.
