Jonetta Eddy

Obituary of Jonetta Eddy

Jonetta Eddy (nee Poston) Age 76. Peacefully Friday, February 26, 2016 at Joliet Area Community Hospice following a courageous battle of aggressive pancreatic cancer with her family by her side. She has found her victory in eternity with her husband and her loving Lord. Born in Mt. Vernon and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Retired from the Hartford Insurance Company after many years as an administrative professional. Jonetta had a passion for capturing the beauty of life in artwork and paintings. Her love of life extended to travel, camping and planning family adventures all for the benefit of those she loved. Preceded by her husband of 58 years, only weeks before, Warren Lee Eddy (2015). Caring for Warren was Jonetta's first priority. So she put aside the aches and pains of everyday life in order to provide Warren with a better quality of life until the aches and pains became unbearable weeks after Warren's death. Only then did she go to the doctor where she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer just two short weeks ago. That is the true measure of love and sacrifice putting the needs of another above your own. Her parents; and two sisters, Marva Joutras and Janice Poston also precede her. Survived by her beloved daughter, Dawn Carter of Plainfield; her loving son, Lee (Sarah) Eddy of Roselle, IL; the light and the spirit of her life, the two people that brought her so much joy and appreciation were her grandchildren, Devin Carter of Plainfield and Bryton Eddy of Roselle; one sister, Donna Poston; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. On behalf of the Eddy family, they would like to thank Dr. R. W. Schubert for his care and compassion for Warren, Jonetta and the entire Eddy family. Dr. Schubert is not only a physician but he is a true healer and friend. Also, the Eddy family would like to express to Joliet Area Community Hospice for their genuine gratitude for their love and support during Warren and Jonetta's final days. Funeral Services for Jonetta Eddy will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Rev. Robert Hahn officiating.
