Obituary of Sharon MacGlashing

Sharon A. MacGlashing (nee Boreman) Age 60, of Channahon, IL and formerly of Justice, IL, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016. She was born July 6, 1955 in Chicago to the late Mary (nee McArdle) and Walter Boreman. Beloved wife of Dan MacGlashing; loving mother of Sharon Lynn Mansfield (Blas) Calderon, Rachel Torres (deceased), Rafael Torres, Michele "Micki" Torres (deceased) and Samantha (Justin) Rigney. Devoted grandmother of 10 and proud great-grandmother of 5. Fond sister of the late Wally (Brenda) Boreman, Catherine (James) Schnur, Debbie (Paul) Kunis, Peter (Jeannette) Boreman, Mary (Robert) Berry, Janet (Dennis) Hanson and Bill (Debi) Boreman. Dear sister-in-law of Debbie Gonzalez (Joe Shine) and Dawn (Thomas) McGuire. Several aunts, uncles and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her daughters, Rachel and Micki, one grandson, Jimmy "Jimbo" Mansfield; her parents, and brother, Wally. Sharon, an extremely warm-hearted extrovert, supported and volunteered for several local causes, including the Morningstar Mission in Joliet. She enjoyed traveling as well as motorcycling, however, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She was a Senior Analyst for Verizon and a member of the Dale A.C. in Rockdale. Funeral services for Sharon MacGlashing will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd), Joliet, where visitation will take place Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until services begin at 8:00 p.m. As it was Sharon's wish, cremation rites will be accorded.
