Obituary of Dominic Bucciferro

Dominic Bucciferro Age 88, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Retired from Jemco Engineering Company, Minooka, IL after 30 years as Vice President of Engineering. Dominic attended Joliet Township High School, Joliet Junior College and University of Illinois, where he graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. A veteran of WWII proudly served in the United States Army. Member of the American Legion Harwood Post #5, Knights of Columbus, Good Shepherd Council # 5573 Plainfield, and a member of the Cathedral of Saint Raymond Nonnatus. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lois (nee Testin); daughters, Mary (Harold) Kazier and Donna (Joseph) Murdie; sons, James (Judy), John (Kathy), Joseph (Sheri) and Robert (Paula) Bucciferro; grandchildren, Theresa (Peter) Oberding, Sarah (Eddie) Panozzo, Brittany (Derek) Heckler, Nathan Kazier, Morgan, Anthony, Selah and Amy Bucciferro, Michael Murdie, Matthew, Isabella, Dominic Francis and Julia Bucciferro; great-grandchildren, Mae and Sophia Oberding, Grant Panozzo and Cecilia Heckler; one sister, Mary Jane Bucciferro; brother-in-law of Joseph (Bunny) Testin and Raymond (Marlene) Testin; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Pietro and Rachela (nee DeBlasis); brother, Guy (Rose); and infant siblings, Maria, Dominic and Angela. Funeral Services for Dominic Bucciferro will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to The Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Minooka. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls Chicago, IL would be appreciated.
