Obituary of William Schaubel

William E. Schaubel Age 66, peacefully Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born December 13, 1949 in Joliet, he was the son of John Henry and Elvira (nee Hamann) Schaubel. A lifelong Joliet area resident and graduate of Joliet West High School, Class of 1968. He retired from the Joliet Police Department in 2006 after 28 years of service. He had a quick witted sense of humor and enjoyed camping, car shows and watching NASCAR. Survived by two daughters, Tammy (Ben) Hunsaker and Traci (Don) Sass; fiancee, Carole L. Jadron; grandchildren, Bain and Nathan Hunsaker, Alexis Ruchala, Cameron, William and Amanda Sass; sister, Karen Wagnon; stepbrothers, T. Lamar (Becki) Wagnon and Ray Wagnon; brother-in-law, John (Kathy) Jadron; many nieces and nephews; and his cherished classic car, "Baby Bertha". Preceded by his parents; and his wife of 38 years, Pamela M. (nee Jadron) (2009). A Memorial Visitation for William E. Schaubel will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. and the Joliet Police Department walk through following the service.
