Obituary of Richard Gloeckner

Richard E. Gloeckner "Dick" Age 74, of Joliet, IL passed peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1941 to the late Mildred (nee Rokisky) and William Gloeckner in West Virginia where he was raised and educated, a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Salem College. Dick was a US Navy Veteran who served during Viet-Nam. Loving father of Phil (Elaine) Gloeckner; beloved and proud grandfather of Geovana, Elliette and Maxwell; dear brother of Terry (Helen) Gloeckner, Diana (Jeff) Transue and Rob (Lucia) Gloeckner. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, scattered across the nation. Preceded in death by his parents and loving nephew, Raymond Gloeckner. Dick retired from Reynolds Metals after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid Cubs fan who enjoyed camping, playing poker and watching nostalgic sitcoms, especially "Everybody Loves Raymond". Services for Mr. Gloeckner were held privately with Interment and honors held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
