Obituary of Lena Greco

Lena F. Greco (nee Mussario) Age 94. Peacefully Friday, May 13, 2016 at her home. Born August 11, 1921 in Joliet to Palmerino and Annarose (nee Cemeno) Mussario. A lifelong member of St. Anthony Church where she helped for many years with the spaghetti dinners. Also a member of Altar and Rosary. Lena was a strong woman of faith. She was a great cook who enjoyed time with her children and loved visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by her children, Sharon (Dennis) Martin and Sam (Penny) Greco; grandchildren, Dennis Martin Jr., Douglas (Mireya) Martin, David (fiancee, Katie Gabrielse) Martin, Michaelene (Mark) Melone, Scott Martin, Ellen (John Paul) Sondag, Kimberly Bavilacqua, Brooke (Missy) Bavilacqua, Kelly (Jon) Slavik and Brandon (Hilary) Greco; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; and siblings, Peter and Joseph Mussario, Rose Kostelec and Angeline Resler. Funeral Services for Lena F. Greco will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Anthony Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
