Obituary of Leroy Campbell

Leroy R. Campbell "Lee" Lee Campbell, age 59, of Plainfield, passed away unexpectedly and way too soon on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Emergency Room. Born March 14, 1957 in Chicago, he was the son of Leroy and Donna (Burgchardt) Campbell, Sr. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy. Lee was a proud and accomplished member of Mechanics' Local #701, and developed many lifelong friendships while employed at Penske, Alpha Baking, and most recently at USF Holland, Inc. He also previously was the owner of Enterprise Motors and worked as a reposessor and a semi driver for Mopar. Lee was an outstanding, devoted and accomplished father who was a knight in shining armor when it came to his princesses. He will be remembered as an outgoing and fearless adventurist who had a great personality and a fun, sometimes goofy, sense of humor. A great conversationalist, he always had stories to share and was nicknamed "Campfire Campbell." Lee was also a corvette enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Lee Campbell; and his parents. Surviving are his wife, Debra Jacksa-Campbell; his children, Jacob Ryan Campbell, Misty Marie Campbell, Melanie Campbell, Connie Weese, Scott ( Elizabeth ) Jacksa, and Brad Jacksa; grandchildren, Adrian Andrew Aleman, Swayze Mae Campbell, Maleya Margaret Campbell, Austin Steven, Annie Mae Baron, Madison and Tyler Jacksa, and soon to be born Elijah Brandon Lee Aleman; his loyal and loving furry friend- Peyton; and best friend ever, Bobby Delrose. Visitation for Leroy Campbell will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation and interment will be private.
