Obituary of Joseph M. Paolucci

Joseph M. Paolucci Age 88, of Joliet, IL, passed peacefully at home Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was born March 29, 1928 to the late Regina (nee Vaccaro) and Adolfo Paolucci in Bonefro, Italy where he was raised and educated. He served in the Italian Army before emigrating to the United States in 1957. He returned to Italy in 1959 to wed his beloved wife Annina, and soon thereafter they settled in Joliet, where Joseph worked as a master tailor at Al Baskin/Mark Shale, retiring after over 40 years. Devoted husband of 57 years to Annina (nee DiMemmo) Paolucci; loving father of Rudolf (Judy) Paolucci of Naperville and Joseph Paolucci (Thomas Hitchcock) of Chicago; adored grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew and Sarah Paolucci, and Joseph and Harrison Paolucci-Hitchcock; dearest brother, Alfred (Michelle) Paolucci of Joliet; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded by his sister, Luciette Papallardi of Italy. Mr. Paolucci was a member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, the American Italian Cultural Society, the former UNICO and Knights of Columbus Council #382. He thoroughly enjoyed family get togethers and the serenity of his second home in Marco Island, FL. He equally valued the strong bond of friendship. Funeral services for Joseph M. Paolucci will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
