Obituary of Errol Ebb Carter

ERROL EBB CARTER "Whitey" "Butch" Age 74. Peacefully Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home following a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. Born in Chicago and life long Chicago and Chicago suburbs resident before relocating to Plainfield, Illinois in 2003. U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran. Retired from Yellow Freight as a dockman in 2006 after over 23 years of service. A former member of Lake Marie Fishing and Boating Club in Antioch, IL where he could be found riding around on his pontoon boat with a beer in his hand. Boat rides were especially enjoyable when family and friends could enjoy the lake together. Preceeded by his parents Ezra Ebb and Maxine (nee Aldrich) Carter. Two brothers Burt White and William Carter. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Josette (nee Erickson) Carter; his beloved daughter Susan (Michael) Papai; two grandchildren Joseph (fiancé Jordan Janachowski) Papai and Christina Papai; one great granddaughter Sophie Papai all of Plainfield; one sister Odetta (the late Anthony) Distasio of Darien; two brothers Byford "Nick" (Lolly) Carter of Michigan and Clark (Maria) Carter of Darien. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet, at 4 p.m. with Father John Regan officiating. Visitation Sunday from 1-4 p.m. As it was Errol's request cremation rights will be accorded following his funeral services.
