Obituary of John L. Vogrin

John L. Vogrin "Leo" Age 84. Passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at his late residence. Born in Joliet to the late John and Ellen (nee Rogers) Vogrin, a lifelong resident. A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. A retired carpenter, member of Carpenter's Union Local #174, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and VFW Cantigny Post #367. Leo's passion was his Grandchildren, gardening and the friends he made at Inwood Athletic Club. Survived by his wife, Mary (nee Wertzler) Vogrin of Joliet; five children, Cathleen (Vago) Galounis of New Lenox, John B. (Jeanette) Vogrin of Shorewood, Patricia Ann (Bob) Edwards of Joliet, Lori (Ken) Krumreich of New Lenox, and Jim (Ann) Vogrin of Joliet; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by his parents; three sisters, Edna Mae Knott, Joann Williams and Barbara Jean Vogrin. Funeral Services for John L. Vogrin will be held on Thursday, December 1st, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Family will receive all friends and relatives from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
