Obituary of Joseph A. Castellano

Joseph A. Castellano, age 71, of Plainfield, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital with his family at his side. Born May 21, 1945 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Rocco and Frances (Roccaforte) Castellano. Joe was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. For over 45 years, he was the owner and Operator of Cast Cartage, Inc. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Michele D. (Selep) Castellano of Plainfield; loving father of Francine (Ted) Koziel of Plainfield, Joseph (Kimberly) Castellano of Aurora, Jeanette Castellano of Shorewood, Anthony (Rebecca) Castellano of Portland, OR, and Renee Castellano of Plainfield; dear grandfather of seven devoted grandchildren, Caitlin and Allison Koziel, Emily, Sarah and Megan Castellano, and Maria and Joseph Castellano; fond brother to Anthony (Mary) Castellano and Anna (the late Vincent) Alagna; and dear uncle to five. Funeral services for Joseph A. Castellano will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be private. Memorials in his name to American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
