Obituary of William J. Shimshok

William J. Shimshok Age 84, of DeKalb, IL and a former long-time Joliet, IL resident, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center. He was a United States Army Veteran. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna L. (nee Magers) Shimshok (2009) and his parents. Survived by several friends and colleagues as well as his three step-children and their families. Bill was a retired real estate broker and owner of Shimshok Enterprises in Joliet. He began his career as a carpenter in the construction trade with his father which evolved into a full service residential and commercial real estate firm. He enjoyed several hobbies, among them piloting small aircraft, however, he will be most remembered for his jovial and kind demeanor. Funeral Services for William J. Shimshok will be held Monday April 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) in Joliet. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Romeoville, IL. Visitation Monday morning, from 10:00 am until services begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
