Obituary of Myra Helen Condon

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, Myra Helen Condon passed away; finally free from the pain she endured fighting stage IV breast and bone cancer. Myra leaves behind the great love of her life, and husband of 56 years, Thomas Condon. She was the only child and was loved dearly by the late Leslie F. and Lillian (nee Kunke) Walters.

Myra lived a life with courage and strength. She worked alongside her parents, husband, daughters and son-in-law to run their business, Walters Roofing and Siding Supply. Summers were spent by their pool with her family. She was a woman of many talents. Myra enjoyed cooking, was a gifted quilter, devoted to her Catholic faith and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. She also had a special collection of cardinals.

Myra is survived by her husband and best friend, Thomas Condon; her three daughters, Denise (Joe) Parton, Carol Condon and Jodi (Mark) Ferlin; proud grandmother of seven, Lauren Parton, Alyssa (Scott) Schneider, Andrew Parton, Christopher Spreitzer, Sara Spreitzer, Natalie Ferlin and Nathan Ferlin and one great grandson, Evan Schneider.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Joliet Area Community Hospice. Their support and care for Myra in her final days will never be forgotten.

Funeral Services for Myra Helen Condon will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. As it was her wish, cremation rites will be accorded following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
