Irene Coope Alexander passed away suddenly, Monday, July 17, 2017 at her home. She was born June 11, 1941 in Joliet to the late Michael and Caliope (nee Karales) Skiotes. Irene was a graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1959.  She retired in March 2017 from the City of Joliet as a school crossing guard which she truly loved.  She loved spending time with children and older people. Irene worked for a prominent law firm in Joliet for 15 years. Irene was a caring person who enjoyed sending cards and good wishes to family and friends. She was extremely thoughtful and will be truly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Janet Lynn Coope (Mark Epstein) and Deborah Lynn Coope (Kent Bugg); three wonderful grandchildren, Mackenzie and Megan Bugg and Carly Epstein; one brother, James M. Skiotes; three nieces, Sue Brisbin, Sally Skiotes and Sherry Henrichs and two nephews, Michael and Aaron Skiotes.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dillard Alexander (1998) and one brother, Peter M. Skiotes.

Funeral Services for Irene Coope Alexander will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL.
