Obituary of Larry L. McLaughlin

Larry L. McLaughlin
“Big Foot”

On August 5, 2017, at the age of 65, following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Larry McLaughlin passed away peacefully at the Morris Hospital with his loving and devoted wife by his side.

Born in Joliet, and a long time Morris area resident, Larry was a proud member of the Laborers Local #75.

His favorite pastimes in addition to spending time with his family and friends were hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He especially enjoyed the fellowship and the challenge of being a member of the Grundy County Woodworking Club.

Survived by his wife of 30 years, Marina (nee Pistilli) McLaughlin of Morris; two sons, Antonio (Katie) McLaughlin of Lombard, IL and Jakob McLaughlin of Morris; one daughter, Carolyn (Vince Guerrero) McLaughlin of Bolingbrook; and one granddaughter, Peyton McLaughlin, who was the love of his life.

As it was Larry’s wish, an intimate gathering of close family and friends was held in order to take some time just to say goodbye.  At the conclusion of his service, cremation rites were accorded.  In lieu of flowers, the family would ask on Larry’s behalf to perform a random act of kindness to a stranger.  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  For more information, please call (815) 942-5040 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
