Paul T. Donahue
Age 53, of Shorewood, IL passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. He was born on September 6, 1964 to Paul and Patricia (nee O'Brien) Donahue in Oak Lawn, IL and was raised in Hometown, IL.
Paul was a 1982 graduate of St. Lawrence High School in Burbank. He received a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Bradley University in Peoria, graduating in 1986. Paul spent his junior year studying in Spain. During his senior year he studied in London, including an internship as an assistant to a member of Parliament. He then attended Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he was on law review with a published article. He received his J.D. in 1991.
Paul began his legal career at the Law Offices of Peter F. Ferracuti in Ottawa, IL. He then opened his own law practice in Joliet in 1997, where he practiced law for the past 20 years. During this time, Paul served as a member of the Board of Directors for Prairie State Legal Services. He was fluent in Spanish and was proud to provide legal services to the Hispanic community of Joliet.
Survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa (nee Novotney) Donahue; five children, Nina (16), Pauly (12), Janelle (10), Aidan (8), and Keira (4); siblings, Eileen Simon, Marie Kudrys, Patrick "PJ" (Beth) Donahue, Teresa (Joe) Carufel, Philip (Virginia) Donahue, Peter (Lynn) Donahue and James Donahue; his aunt, Patricia Donahue; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded by his parents and his grandmothers, Rose (Liggett) Donahue and Mildred (Casey) O’Brien.
Paul enjoyed playing golf and woodworking. He also had a love for music, especially the Beatles and Bob Dylan. Paul touched many lives and was loved dearly by his lifelong friends. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Paul T. Donahue will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Avenue, Shorewood, IL. Visitation Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
