“Mike”

Age 61, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.  Mike was a graduate of Joliet East High School, Class of 1975. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in biology from the College of St. Francis.  He was employed at Economics Laboratory for 26 years.  Mike liked to golf, but thoroughly enjoyed his morning walk along the I & M Canal tow path.

Mike is survived by his sister, Mary Lynn (Gerald) Eisenbrandt of Stevensville, MI; two brothers, Richard Wilhelmi of Joliet and Mark Wilhelmi of Plainfield; niece and nephew, Brian Wilhelmi and Kara (Randy) Jeffrey; and was the great uncle of four.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger P. and Viola M. (nee Viano) Wilhelmi; one sister, Annette (in infancy); and several aunts and uncles.

As it was Mike's request, cremation rites have been accorded and his final earthly remains will be spread by his family privately at a favorite location.  Fred C.
