Obituary of Diane Marie Moscato

Diane Marie Moscato

(nee Hoffmeyer)

Diane Marie Moscato, passed away at her home in Shorewood, on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the age of 64.  Diane was born on August 3, 1959, the daughter of the late Eugene C. and Georgianna (nee Johnson) Hoffmeyer.  Born and raised in Joliet, she was a graduate of Joliet West High School and attended Joliet Junior College.  She was formerly employed as a Coordinator in the Customer Service Department with DSV Logistics.  Diane was an active parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood, where she helped make rosaries that were shared in other countries.

Diane was always an athletic woman.  She played softball in high school, raced go-karts with her brother, always loved being out on the water boating with her family, and was a staple at any athletics that her boys were involved in.  More than anything else, her favorite “sport” was doting on her granddaughter, Izzy.

After retiring, Diane enjoyed traveling and making memories with those she loved. Spending time with her family meant the world to her, and nothing made Diane happier than her children. She protected them, was a role model for them, loved them endlessly, and was their number one fan. Her love for her family was evident to everyone who knew her. She will be remembered fondly for her strength, perseverance, and grace.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Charles T. Moscato; her sons, Brandon Moscato and Justin (Brooke) Moscato; her granddaughter, Isabelle; siblings, Donna (Steve) Sievert, John (Ann) Hoffmeyer, Bob (Kathy) Hoffmeyer, and Bill (Peggy) Hoffmeyer; and her in-laws, Larry (Sherri) Moscato, Pam Moscato, Jean (the late Dana) Cervak, and Kim (Kevin) Sass. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She is preceded by her son Chadwin Moscato; her parents; and her sister, Debbie Klingler.
