Jean Irene Gavrick

Jean Irene Gavrick, passed away at the age of 85, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL.  Jean was born on March 30, 1938, the only daughter of the late Louis and Ann (nee Michus) Gavrick.  She grew up in Chicago, IL and was a graduate of Chicago Vocational High School, with the class of 1955. 

In her free time, Jean enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzles, watching game shows and spending time with family and friends. She made friends easily and loved being at the events of her grandkids, she was their biggest fan!  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.         

Jean is survived by her daughter, Deneen (Jeffrey) Wojtasiak; grandchildren, Danielle Murphy and Joey Wojtasiak; brother, Edward (Anna) Gavrick; and sister-in-law, Catherine Gavrick.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

She is preceded by her parents; two brothers, Louis “Boots” Gavrick and Robert Gavrick; and her daughter’s father, Joseph Noto.

Visitation for Jean Irene Gavrick will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m.  As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Shriners Hospital for Children.
