Obituary of Mary Ellen Smith

Mary Ellen Smith “Honey” (nee Rockett), age 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Smith; their son, Scott;  her parents, Herman and Mary A. Rockett; her brother and sisters and their spouses; one granddaughter and a grandson.   

She is survived by sons, Thomas (Glenda), Timothy (Michelle) and Terrance (Karen); along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family prefers donations to Guardian Angel Community Services Foster care or the charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home at 3200 Black Road (At Essington) in Joliet, IL. Interment at St. Mary’s in Minooka will be held at a later time.
