Obituary of Kevin Douglas Holden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Douglas Holden, age 47, of New Lenox, who departed this world on Saturday, December 30, 2023.  He left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

Born February 26, 1976, in Joliet, he was a graduate of Joliet Central High School, Class of 1994.  A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, he served our country with honor and distinction in the Middle East, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  Kevin also was a car and truck enthusiast whose love for vehicles was as boundless as the open road.

He is survived by his spouse, Ashley (Gibbons) Holden; his children, Addyson and Declan; his parents, Arthur (Margaret) Holden and Julie and Martin Kruszka; siblings, Aaron (Hillary) Holden, Amanda (Chris) Godek, and Ryan (Alexis) Kruszka; mother in-law Wendy Walker and father-in law John (Julianne) Gibbons, in-laws Candice (Rob Fellows) Gibbons, Josh Gibbons, and Zach Gibbons.  He also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Anthony (Abby) Holden, Kayli, Ellie, and great niece Lisa Holden; Anna, Jacob and Benjamin Godek; Rowan and Lilah Kruszka.

Kevin will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his smile and his ability to tell a joke.  In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared, and the love that will forever bind us to him.

Family, friends and fellow veterans are invited to join in commemorating Kevin’s life and offering their condolences at his visitation which will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Time of Sharing at 7:30 p.m., at the Fred C.
