Paul Maser

Paul Maser, age 72 of Channahon, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at St. Joseph Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.  He was born on March 19, 1951, in Chicago, to the late Carl and Margaret (nee Schroeder) Maser.

Paul will be remembered as a simple man, a little stubborn at times, and those that knew him well knew that he was “bigger, tougher and meaner than most.” He always enjoyed a good time with family and friends. He loved all things fishing, horses, the outdoors, and his time spent as a Scout Master of Troop 317. You could find him most weekend nights having a beer and listening to some good country music while enjoying a fire. If you joined him, you would hear the same story you’ve heard many times before, but it was always worth a listen. He and his stories will certainly be missed.

 Paul is survived by his loving wife, Karen (nee Metzger); loving father of Joe (Tiffany) Maser, Keith (Karen) Maser, Shannon (Steve) Surman and Ashley Maser; dear brother of Clifford (Gunda) Maser and the late Carl Maser, Ann Garapolo, Judy Karjolick. and Phil Maser; and proud grandfather to Haley, Hannah, Zack, Kyle, River, Greyson, Keegan, Liam, Sadie and Sidney.

Funeral Services for Paul Maser will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
