Chloe Coleman

Obituary of Chloe Summer Coleman

Chloe Summer Coleman, 18 years old, of Morris, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2024.  Chloe was born on June 24, 2005, to overjoyed parents, Christy and Clay Coleman, and loving older sister, Kayla Coleman. Chloe was a graduate of Morris Community High School and attended Early Childhood Development classes at Grundy Area Vocational Center, as it was her passion to become a teacher.

Known as Toe by those who loved her most, Chloe was an adventurous and vibrant child who loved exploring nature. She spent countless hours with family and friends at “The Pit” in Sheridan, IL, fishing, swimming, Kayaking, and camping. Chloe’s affinity for animals made her an expert at catching turtles, frogs, and snakes. As she grew, she added hiking and rock-hounding to her long list of favorite outdoor activities. When at home, she could be found listening to music, enjoying the companionship of her pets, or being goofy with friends and family.

Chloe was full of beauty, which shone through in her caring and compassionate ways, she was smart, fearless, funny, and more brave than any young woman should ever have to be. Despite the shortness of her life, she left an impact on the ground she so dearly loved and in the hearts of those who so dearly loved her. Our lives will never be the same, both for having been gifted the experience of life with her and for having suffered through losing her.

Chloe is preceded in death by her mother, Christy Coleman, and her grandfather, Ural Baker.

She is survived by her father, Clay Coleman; her sister, Kayla Coleman; her bonus mother, Harmony Moore; her bonus brothers, Cole Heap-Moore and Brady Sparks-Moore; her grandparents, Max and Sherry Coleman of Tennessee and Nancy Baker of Bloomington, IL; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with her beloved pets, Trixie and Montego.
