Nicolaos A. "Nick" Kourlesis
Age 69, of Plainfield, IL, died peacefully Friday, June 17, 2016 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. He was born June 25, 1946 to the late Ekaterini and Athanasios Kourlesis in Patras, Greece where he was raised and educated. He served in the Greek Military for 2 years and then came to the United States to work as a Tailor. Nick relocated to the Chicago area in the 1970's becoming the owner/operator of Central Dry Cleaners. Over the years, his business expanded with the addition of over a dozen locations throughout the Chicago land area.
He is survived by his wife, Debra (nee Seif) Kourlesis of Plainfield; two sons, Christian (Jennifer) Kourlesis of Plainfield and Jonathan Kourlesis of Plainfield; three sisters, Maria (Abraham) Vlachostathis; Konstantina Stratikis and Panagiota (Anthanasios) Tsevis; one brother, Demitrios Kourlesis; numerous nieces and nephews; his stepchildren, Adam (Caroline) and Allison Urban; and three grandchildren.
Preceded by his brother, Angelos Kourlesis.
Funeral services for Nick Kourlesis will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016, 8:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 102 N. Broadway St., Joliet where services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Algoma, WI Thursday 3:30 p.m. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. with Trisagion services at 5:45 p.m. Memorials in his name to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
