Obituary of Donald A. McKeller

Donald A. McKeller, age 79, of Gardner, and formerly of Shorewood, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side. Born November 30, 1936 in Bandana, KY to Archie and Lou Anna (nee Moss) McKeller, he proudly served in the United States Army. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening. Surviving are his son, Wayne (Penny) McKeller; grandchildren, Megan McKeller, Amanda McKeller, Kayla McKeller, Eric Coulter, Patrick Coulter and Kevin Coulter; son-in-law, Jere Coulter; two brothers, James (Donna) McKeller and Emmitt (Ruby) McKeller; two sisters-in-law, Doris Tanner and Patricia (Harry) Huite; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by his beloved wife of 55 years, Alma J. (nee Tanner ) McKeller (February 14, 2014); his parents; one daughter, Kathleen Coulter; and one son, Donald McKeller. Funeral Services for Donald A. McKeller will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park II will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
