Generally, the embalming procedure is not done for premature children due to the underdeveloped circulatory system of the child, therefore, viewing is not recommended. We have found that a graveside service or cremation services are the most frequent type of service requested by families that have lost a child at this developmental stage.
Our professional services including making the arrangements, recording all vital statistics, making all necessary contacts which may include clergy, cemetery, newspaper, etc., as well as securing all permits and certificates.
All Transportation (Local): is done at no charge (local); including from place of death to the funeral home and from the funeral home to the cemetery.
Facilities and Staff Services: A graveside service plus casket or urn will be included for assisting in and being present for the graveside service will be done at a charge of $150.00 dollars plus casket, urn or any optional items.
If a family desires a traditional funeral service with a visitation or church service; our Standard General Price List will be in effect with 1/3 of the customary adult charge applying to stillborn or premature children.
Merchandise: Our infant caskets/cherubs range from $310.00 to $995.00. Burial vaults are usually not required at most cemeteries that have a designated area for infants.
**Several wood and protective steel caskets are also available.
**Some cemeteries that have a designated area for infant children do have certain requirements such as maximum casket dimensions and age limitations.
Optional Items: Such as register book, prayer cards, thank you cards and religious symbols are available at an additional cost. Other expenses such as newspaper notices, flowers, clergy and musician honoraria; and all cemetery and crematory expenses are additional and vary from provider to provider.
