Obituary of William O'Connor

O'Connor, William V. Age 69. Passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Chicago, he was a long time Channahon resident, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was formerly employed as Facilities Director of the Windemere Retirement Community in Wheaton, and retired as Director of Facilities at Central DuPage Hospital. He enjoyed nature and target shooting, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret (nee Neylon) O'Connor; one brother, James O'Connor; and two sisters, Bridget and Margaret Ann O'Connor. Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rosemary (nee Shea) O'Connor of Channahon; his children, John (Lori) O'Connor of Shorewood, Ann (Amando) Melgar of Joliet, Kathleen (Steve) Byhre of Carpentersville, IL, William (Brittlyn) O'Connor of Crest Hill and Patrick (Julie) O'Connor of Elgin; 12 grandchildren with one on the way; five brothers, Joseph (late Mary Fran) of Evanston, Martin (Mary Helen) of Winnetka, Michael (Eileen) of Joliet, Kevin (Mary) of Chicago and Robert (Mary) O'Connor of New Lenox; four sisters, Eileen Rita (late Jerry) Murray of Corvallis, OR, Monica (Tom) Agler of Crown Point, IN, Loretta (Dick) Cushman of Peoria, and Cecilia O'Connor of Chicago; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was very proud and appreciative of all the love and care provided by his family, friends and relatives. Funeral Services for William V. O'Connor will be Monday, December 3, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Catholic Church, Minooka for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
