Obituary of Mary Bannister

Bannister, Mary J. (nee Piccaro) Age 94. Peacefully, Sunday April 1, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center with her family by her side. Born in Auburn, NY and a Joliet resident in the 1960's returning in 2010. Mary and her husband traveled and lived all over the world due to Mary's husband position with the Department of the United States Army. She was an avid quilter, golfer, bridge player and an accomplished, talented harpist. She enjoyed book clubs and always loved where she went and the people she met. She was loved and will be deeply missed. Preceded by her husband, Russell J. Bannister (2009); her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by one son, Stephen C. (the late Judith) Bannister of Salt Lake City, UT and one daughter, Ann L. (Don) Ehrsam of Channahon; four grandchildren, Christopher (Vicki) Ehrsam, Matthew (Sarah) Ehrsam, Amy (Michael) North and Alyssa Ehrsam; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel, Sydney, Emma, Sophie, John, Jaedon and Annabel; two sisters; and one brother; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Funeral Services for Mary J. Bannister will be Monday April 9, 2012 at 9:15 from the funeral home chapel to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. As it was Mary's request cremation rites will be accorded following funeral services.
