Obituary of Robert Kinney
Robert R. Kinney
Age 88. Passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his late residence after a lingering illness.
Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (nee Budde) Kinney; his parents, John and Agnes (nee McManus) Kinney; one brother, Dr. John F. Kinney; and one sister, Anna Marie Fitzgerald.
Mr. Kinney was born on June 28, 1920 in Troy Township. He attended St. Raymond's Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School in Joliet. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He retired from Commonwealth Edison Company (Exelon), as Assistant Director of the Real Estate Division with over 40 years of service. For many years, he was active in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Commonwealth Edison (Real Estate Division) Retirees' Association, the American Right of Way Association, the American Legion and the Will County Farm Bureau. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox.
Mr. Kinney is survived by one daughter, Jayne (Keith) Kostelny of Lockport; one son, Richard (Katherine) Kinney of Centennial, CO; a granddaughter, Kaleigh Kinney; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Kinney was inspirational to many people and was loving and devoted to his family. The Kinney/Kostelny Family wish to give a special thank you to Lucy Owierczuk for her wonderful care of our father.
Funeral Services for Robert R. Kinney will be Friday, March 27, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice or your favorite charity would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. at:
