Robert J. Koscik
Age 79, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, with family at his side, on Friday, August 27, 2010.
Born in Joliet to the late John and Elizabeth (nee Fedor) Koscik, he was a lifetime resident. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. Retired from Fisher Body of Willow Springs in 1990 after over 30 years of service.
Beloved husband of Shirley M. (nee Noll); father of Maria Lauster of Onalaska, WA, Christine (Gary) Miranda of Salkum, WA, and Susan Koscik of Morton, WA; three stepsons, Douglas (Lori) Snode of Shorewood, Thomas (Laura) Snode of Minooka, and Duane (Mic) Snode of Steward; step-foster daughter, Michelle (Tim) Smith of Plainfield; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcella (late Phil) Ostrem of Joliet; one brother, Thomas (Shirley A.) Koscik of Channahon; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Frank (late Agnes) Koscik, Ann (late George) Banas, Edward (Sheila) Koscik, Betty (late Frank) Banas, and Dorothy (late Paul) DuSchene.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, and bowler.
Funeral Services for Robert J. Koscik will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 3-9 p.m. at:
