Obituary of Leo Krupianik
Krupianik, Leo R.
Age 90. Passed away peacefully, Friday, December 9, 2011 at Provena Villa Franciscan Nursing Home.
Born May 25, 1921 in Joliet, he retired from Eby Brown as a truck driver and warehouseman. He previously worked for Caterpillar, Inc., and U. S. Steel. During World War II, Leo served with the 503rd Service Group of the Army Air Force in Europe, as a bombardier and navigator on 17 missions aboard the B26 Marauder. His unit received the Presidential Unit Citation for an heroic mission during the Battle of the Bulge. Leo was also a charter member of the Air Force Association, member of 391st Bomb Group Association, and a life member of Cantigny Post #367 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survived by his two sons, Larry and Gerald; four grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and one sister, Cecilia Valek.
Preceded in death by his wives, Lorraine (nee Moholick) Krupianik (1960), and Rita (nee Musacchio) Krupianik (1996); parents, Lawrence and Frances (nee Konopek) Kruipianik; two brothers, John and Leonard; two sisters, Elizabeth Krupianik and Marie Paluzzi; and two infant brothers.
Funeral Services for Leo R. Krupianiak will be Monday, December 12, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Cross Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation Sunday, 2-6 p.m.
