Joseph Ksiazak
"Ice Cream Joe"
Age 77. Born in Joliet on February 1, 1932. Passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 of congestive heart failure, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a retired route salesman for Highlander Ice Cream, Drexel Ice Cream and Wanzer Dairy. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Member of the Senior Citizens Association.
Survived by his wife, Lorraine (nee Cleary); daughter, Kathleen "Kathy" (Mark) Schuck; son, Mark (Jean, nee Blackburn) Ksiazak; grandchildren, Matt and Aaron Schuck; Mike (fiancee Ronette), Tom and Brian Ksiazak; future great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Caden Hennessy; granddogs, Olive and Sophie; brother-in-law of Pat Magercak, Stephanie Ksiazak, Darlene Kazak, John Magercak and Dave (Marie) Klimek; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances (nee Wesolowski) Ksiazak; three sisters, Sophie Obrinchak, Stella Przybylski and Theresa Klimek; and two brothers, Stanley and Adam.
The family would like to thank Dr. D. Bhatt, Courtney, Stephanie and Tina; as well as the Joliet Area Community Hospice staff, especially Michelle and Wanda, for all their loving care given to us.
Funeral Services for Joseph A. Ksiazak will be Friday, April 3, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2-9 p.m. at:
