Obituary of Loretta Kuhajda

Kuhajda, Loretta E. (nee Smrekar) Age 90, of Joliet, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with her family by her side. Born March 21, 1922 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Anna (nee Strmec) Smrekar. Loretta worked for the Wire Mill for many years, and later was a cook for the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate. She loved polka music. Survived by a nephew, Bob Doszak; a nephew-in-law, Allen D. Roper; numerous great nieces and nephews including Michael Roper, Robert (Kristi) Roper, Ray (Diane) Roper, Kim (Danny) Doglio and Chris Doszak; and many great-great nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kuhajda; her parents; one sister, Dorothy Doszak; two brothers, Anthony and Eddie Smrekar; two nieces, Loretta Roper and Norma Jean Doszak, in infancy; and a great nephew, Bobby Doszak, Jr. The family would like to thank MJM Home Health, Joliet Area Community Hospice and all her friends who helped care for her. Funeral Services for Loretta Kuhajda will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
