Obituary of R. Barnes

R. Theresa Barnes (nee Hartman) Age 79. Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at her home in Plainfield. She was the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Kenter) Hartman of Pesotum, IL. After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1949 with her Bachelors Degree, she began teaching Spanish at Lincoln Way High School in New Lenox. She taught English at Indian Trail Junior High School in Plainfield from 1974 to 1990. She was active with the Plainfield Band Boosters, Joliet Area Retired Teachers' Association, and numerous other activities. Theresa is survived by her sons, Bob (Lisa) Barnes of San Diego, CA, and Jim (Kareena) Barnes of Sugar Grove, IL, daughters, Edith (John) Mihelich of Joliet and Julie (Jim) Hart of Yorkville; eight grandchildren, Geoff, Melanie and John Barnes; Jane, Anne, Kate and Andy Mihelich; and Emily Hart; three step-grandchildren, Sean Conroe; Kate and Kelly Hart; twoA sisters, Alice Henderson of Joliet and Barb (Jim) Schuldt of Carpentersville, IL and one brother, Anthony. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Raymond F. Barnes (March 2008); sisters, Julia (Ed) Wise of Savoy, IL and Edith (Vernon) Schaefer of Pesotum. Funeral Services for Theresa Barnes will be Monday, July 14, 2008 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield, for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
