Wilma D. Barnes
(nee Paulsen)
Age 88. Passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Born in Joliet, she was a lifelong area resident until moving to Murphysboro, IL. She was employed as a legal secretary for Burt Engleman of Joliet for many years. Former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Joliet and a lifelong member of the Womens Guild. Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro, IL and the Quilting Group and Immanuel Seniors. She was an avid bowler.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Barnes; parents, Albert and Lillian (nee Fink) Paulsen; one son, William L. Barnes; grandson, Jeffrey Barnes; one brother, Walter Paulsen.
Survived by her children, David (Karen) Barnes, Douglas (Patricia) Barnes and Wilma J. Barnes (Gordon Davis); grandchildren, Lisa (David) Bailey, Michael Barnes Brian (Susan) Barnes, Kimberly (Edward) Ahlquist, Joseph Barnes, Aaron (Jamie) Hall, Christine (Timothy) Meeker, Paul (Deanna) Barnes, Jacqueline (Andrew) Wrzesinski and Julie (Frank) Smagacz; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Sara Bailey; Meagan Barnes; Eddie and Kelli Ahlquist, Reagan Hall; Ryan and Emily Meeker; Andrew and Alexander Wrzesinski; and Jacob and Anna Smagacz; one great-great-grandchild, Ashton Small; three brothers, Robert (Delores) Paulsen, Gene (Ernie) Paulsen, and Leroy (late Joanne) Paulsen, one sister-in-law, Violet Paulsen; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral Services for Wilma D. Barnes will be Friday September 3, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Hills of Rest Cemetery (Woodlawn II). Visitation Thursday 5-8 p.m. at:
