Age 71. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Chicago to the late Stanley and Clara (nee Wakowiak) Lantka, he had resided in Joliet for the past 45 years. A U.S. Navy veteran. Retired ironworker from Local #444. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Legion Harwood Post #5.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 41 years, JoAnne (nee Dufour) Lantka of Joliet; his daughters, Janice L. Lantka of Joliet and Janette M. (Scott) Sniegowski of Homer Glen; two grandchildren, Samantha and Brenden Lantka; and a third grandchild expected in December; three sisters, Colette (Jim) Hetherington of Iowa, Natalie (Kenneth) Hochevar of Shorewood and Angela (Duane) Kearns of Michigan; two brothers, Stanley (Priscilla) of New Lenox and Eugene (Jeanne) Lantka of Herscher, IL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Lawrence S. Lantka will be Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Private interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to further Dementia Research would be appreciated. Visitation THURSDAY MORNING 8:30 a.m. until time of services at:
