Agatha Larsen
(nee Balsamello)
Age 89. Passed away peacefully Thursday, March 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born July 29, 1920 in Sicily, Italy to the late Anthony Balsamello and Josephine (nee Criscione) Dileto and had resided in the Joliet area most of her life.
Beloved wife of 68 years to the late Leonard Larsen (2006), whom she married December 24, 1937 at St. Anthony's Church; Survived by son, Larry L. (Judith) Larsen of Elwood; one daughter, Lois (late William) Petrovic of Elwood; 11 grandchildren, Joseph (Sue) Petrovic, Robert Petrovic, Rick (Crystal) Petrovic, Carrie (Ned) Rocks, Jan (Brian) Smith, Shellie (Ron) Kokalj, Michael (Jennifer) Larsen, Leonard (Dawn) Larsen, John (Connie) Larsen, Matthew (Michelle) Larsen and Adam Larsen; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Antoinette (Kenneth) Gerat and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Caroline (late Joseph) Dolinsky; and her son-in-law, William Petrovic.
A gracious, intelligent woman who was always eager to help in her familys' pursuits, Agatha would often bring lunch to her son and grandchildren while they were constructing their own homes. Soon after the meal, she could be found hanging drywall, laying tile or participating in a multitude of homebuilding activities. She also enjoyed gardening and attending her grandsons football games.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Church of St. Anthony, 105 N. Scott St, Joliet where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
