Obituary of Bonnie Latham
Bonnie Rue Latham - (Feb 17, 1934 - Dec 18, 2011). After a courageous 11 year battle with lung cancer, Bonnie Rue Latham, a resident of Joliet, IL for more than 50 years, passed away peacefully on Dec 18th. She was born and raised in Huron, TN but moved with her family to the Joliet area in 1955.
Bonnie was one of five children born to the late Veler and Wilburn Garner of Huron. She is survived by her brother George Garner, sister Linda Bell, her seven children, sons Danny, Jerry, and Johnny Latham, daughters Patsy Grant, Shelba Rico, Pam Casarez, and Teresa Lubbers. Bonnie's life was also enriched by her twelve grandchildren, Charmaine, Collin, Kalley, Garrett, Joshua, Tasha, Shawn, Mikey, Johnny Ray, Paul, Cristina, and Jessica, plus four wonderful great-grandchildren, Justin, Alexa, Logan, and Kyle. All of her family was blessed to know and love her and will miss her very much. Bonnie touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, plus her many delicious baked goods and especially her pineapple-upside-down cakes.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation at Reed's Chapel (302 W. Church St. (Hwy 412W), Lexington, TN 38351) on Wednesday, December 21, from 3-9 pm. Funeral services and burial will be at Chapel Hill Church and Cemetery in Huron on Thursday, Decemeber 22nd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to her oldest daughter, who is making arrangements on behalf of the family.
