Obituary of Robert Leschewski

Leschewski, Robert J. Age 89. Passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Illinois Veterans' Home in Manteno. Born March 3, 1922 in Decatur, IL to the late John and Louise (Retat) Leschewski, he was raised in the LaSalle/Peru area and had resided in Joliet, Crest Hill, Channahon and LaSalle / Peru most of his life. A U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII. Beloved father of Robert F. Leschewski of Crest Hill, Lora J. (Michael) Ohlrich of New Lenox, and Ellen M. (Gregory Freiberg) Poulin of Omaha, NE; dear grandfather of Andrea Leschewski, Christine Poulin, Nicholas Poulin, Trevor (Lynn) Ohlrich and Emily Ohlrich; great-grandfather of Noelle, Joshua and Troy. One sister Lillian Dimond of LaSalle many nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jane T. (nee Kieras) Leschewski; four brothers, John, Edward, Fred and David Leschewski; and three sisters Esther Garzanelli, Mabel Doll and Diane Gruenwald. Mr. Leschewski, a retired tool and die maker from Caterpillar Tractor Co., also owned and operated Bob's TV and Radio repair business in Crest Hill for many years. Funeral Services for Robert J. Leschewski will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
