Louis J. Ligos, Jr.
Age 63. Passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Born August 30, 1946 in Joliet, IL, he was a lifetime resident. A graduate of Joliet Catholic, Class of 1964, he remained an active supporter of Hilltopper athletics, especially football and baseball.
He was the beloved son of Wanda Ligos; Fond and devoted brother of Carol (Roger) Tooley.Beloved nephew of Hank and Maggie Woltemade. Dear brother-in-law of Patrick (Debbie) Rink, his Catholic High buddy, Barbara (Thomas) Meagher, Michael (Tina) Rink and Christopher (Rene) Rink. Dearest uncle of Bethany and Alicia Tooley; Peggy Huntsinger; Megan and Thomas Meagher; Ryan, Ashley and Sean Rink; Carly (David), Amanda and Caitlin Rink.
Preceded in death by his wife Eileen (Rink); his father Louis J. Ligos, Sr. and brother-in-law Thomas Rink.
Lou was a pharmacist at Tinley Park Mental Health Center. He was a devoted Joliet Catholic football fan, never missing a game. He was also a Cubs fan who loved his pets and was referred to as "Mr. Christmas" by his family. The Yuletide season will not be the same without his energy and enthusiasm in celebrating the holidays.
Funeral services for Louis J. Ligos, Jr. will be Thursday June 10, 2010, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Catholic Athletic Department would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at:
